Ray Freda to Present at NASBTS Conference

The National Association of State Bar Tax Sections (NASBTS) is an association that provides a forum for communication among the Tax Law Sections of State and Local Bar Associations. The goal for members is to exchange ideas and be educated about new developments in the federal, state and local tax areas.

The 38th Annual NASBTS Conference takes place on October 27-28, 2017 at the office of ALSTON & BIRD LLP in Washington, D.C. The conference includes outstanding speakers and leaders in the federal, state and local tax fields to discuss current tax issues. Ray Freda, an Andersen Managing Director in the New York office, will be on a panel titled, “Stranger in a Strange Land: Ethics and Multijurisdictional Practice Issues.” The session will review the ethical obligations facing SALT attorneys when advising clients in a multijurisdictional environment.

Ray has over 19 years of experience in state and local tax and advising clients with respect to income/franchise, capital, gross receipts, sales and use, property, employment and other state industry specific excise taxes. In addition, he has extensive transactional experience including sell side tax planning and EBITDA enhancement, due diligence, state tax structuring, transfer tax analysis and remediation and post-acquisition integration and planning.
