Burns and Rode Presenting at IVCA Tax Reform Update & Action Program

The Illinois Venture Capital Association (IVCA) is an organization that advocates for a strong venture capital and private equity industry in Illinois through promoting pro-growth public policy initiatives, providing educational programming in private equity, facilitating member networking, and endorsing communication and shared programs with organizations of mutual interest. The IVCA is comprised of firms and professionals dedicated to the development and growth of Illinois’ private equity community.

The IVCA is hosting their first event of 2018 – Tax Reform Update & Action. This program will take place on January 16, 2018 at the UBS Tower in Chicago, IL. Andersen Managing Directors, Kevin Burns and Brad Rode, will be two of the three speakers at the program. The speakers will discuss structuring considerations in light of changes in tax rates, holding period requirements, interest deductibility, Net Operating Losses, equity compensation, taxation of foreign earnings and related matters.

Kevin Burns is the Office Managing Director of the Chicago office of Andersen. He has over 20 years of experience in advising clients on a broad range of tax matters from transactional planning to compliance with ASC 740 and regulatory tax filings. Kevin focuses on providing integrated tax planning for private equity groups and middle market companies and on the coordination of delivery of tax consulting and compliance services to his respective clients. 

Brad Rode is a Managing Director in the Chicago office and part of the Commercial Practice group. Brad specializes in international U.S. federal tax, which includes assisting businesses and investors with addressing tax implications of various cross-border enterprises such as expansion overseas, mergers, acquisitions, financing, and restructurings. Brad works with both U.S. outbound and foreign inbound clients in a variety of industries, including technology, manufacturing, real estate, and private equity.
