Mark Vorsatz is the Global Chairman and CEO of Andersen and Managing Director in the firm’s Private Client Services practice. He co-founded the firm under the name WTAS in 2002 and has been responsible for the firm since inception.  Mark spearheaded the firm's adoption of the Andersen name in September 2014, and the establishment and expansion of Andersen Global into more than 425 locations worldwide.

In addition to his responsibilities as Global Chairman and CEO, Mark works exclusively with individuals in the design and implementation of customized income tax and estate planning solutions. His client base is limited to founders and/or substantial shareholders of public companies, owners of closely held businesses, and high net worth family groups. He focuses on preserving wealth for multi-generational families.

Mark has over 35 years of experience in tax practice. Before joining Andersen, he was a Partner at Arthur Andersen from 1987 to 2002. Mark served on the firmwide Family Wealth Planning Team from 1982 to 2002 and led the firm’s Private Client Service Group in San Francisco. He also served as Managing Partner and Tax Division Head of Arthur Andersen’s San Jose office from 1990 to 1994.

In addition to his undergraduate and law studies, Mark attended a specialized law program at the University of Kent in Canterbury, England and an executive program at the Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C. Mark has served as Chair of the Estate, Gift, and Trust Tax Committee of the American Institute of CPAs, and is a member of the Tax Section of the American Bar Association. He has lectured extensively on estate planning and has taught estate planning in the graduate tax program at Golden Gate University. He regularly lectures at Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco.

Mark is co-author of two treatises: Income Taxation of Fiduciaries and Beneficiaries and Tax Economics of Charitable Giving. He is also co-editor of the newsletter, Family Business Advisor. He has conducted numerous seminars on family business consulting and business disposition strategies and has written articles for The Tax AdvisorTaxation for LawyersTaxation for Accountants, and other prominent tax publications.
