The Institute for Professionals in Taxation (IPT), founded in 1976, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational association serving over 4100 members representing approximately 1450 corporations, firms, or taxpayers throughout the United States and Canada. It is the only professional organization that educates, certifies and establishes strict codes of conduct for state and local income, property and sales & use tax professionals who represent taxpayers (government officials or organizations do not qualify for membership). The Institute also provides excellent educational programs in Value Added Tax (VAT) and Credits & Incentives.

IPT's Sales Tax Symposium takes place at La Cantera Hill County Resort in San Antonio, TX on October 17-20, 2017. Jim Tauber, Andersen Managing Director, is presenting on the topic of “Pollution Control and Other Overlooked Exemptions.” The session will include information on multistate indirect tax exemptions for pollution control equipment and other overlooked exemptions and credits that could mitigate indirect taxes.

Jim has more than 30 years of experience providing accounting, tax, technology and consulting services in various areas of state and local indirect tax.
