Hogan Speaking at FBA 42nd Annual Tax Law Conference in Washington, D.C.
The Federal Bar Association (FBA) is an organization made up of more than 18,000 federal lawyers, including 1,500 federal judges. The association monitors and advocates on federal issues that impact the practice of federal lawyers and courts. The FBA also provides opportunities for education and networking for its members.
The Federal Bar Association Section on Taxation is hosting their 42nd Annual Tax Law Conference on March 9, 2018 at the Ronald Reagan Building & International Trade Center in Washington, D.C. This conference will focus on the important tax developments and developing policy issues of 2018 so far. James Hogan, Andersen Tax Managing Director, will be a presenter at two different sessions during the conference. His first presentation will be on Recent Developments in Gift and Estate Tax Meridian C. His following presentation will be on the Impact of Recent Executive Order on Regulations Related to Gift & Estate Tax Meridian C.
James Hogan has over 35 years of legal and accounting experience and was most recently a Branch Chief in Internal Revenue Service’s (IRS) Office of the Chief Counsel. In that role, he had responsibility for all matters relating to estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax issues. In addition, he reviewed briefs filed by IRS in the United States Tax Court and memoranda to attorneys in the Department of Justice. James is part of US National Tax, serving as a resource for international taxation.
The FBA Section on Taxation’s conference will also feature notable speakers from the IRS, Treasury Department, Department of Justice, White House, and Congress. This conference will be capped by a presentation of the prestigious Kenneth H. Liles Award for Distinguished Service to a tax practitioner in recognition of his or her commitment and hard work to upholding the highest standards of the practice.
