Hirschfeld Speaking at PLI 20th Annual Real Estate Tax Forum

The Practising Law Institute is hosting their 20^th Annual Real Estate Tax Forum on January 29, 2018, at the PLI New York Center. This forum, which is designed for tax attorneys, accountants and real estate professionals who structure real estate transactions, will focus on transactions, highlighting the tax problems encountered by practitioners in today’s typical commercial real estate transactions and structures, and examining the simple and sophisticated solutions being used by the experts. Michael Hirschfeld, Andersen Managing Director, will present on “Non-U.S. Investors and FATCA; Tax Cuts and Jobs Act Provisions Most Relevant to Real Estate.” Other topics of discussion will include drafting partnership agreements to deal with the new partnership audit rules and tax issues for those who purchase debt at a discount. The forum will also feature and provide an in-depth analysis of challenging commercial real estate transactions.

Michael Hirschfeld is a Managing Director in the firm's US National Tax office, where he focuses on international, partnership, corporate and real estate tax planning and compliance. Michael has over 40 years of experience with tax issues that affect partnerships/LLCs, REITs, cross-border investing, real estate acquisition, finance and investment, private equity, distressed debt, mergers and acquisitions, pharmaceutical, energy, and clean technology clients.
